Wonderful Wednesday

I love Wednesdays.  I just do.   Some say it is "hump day"- heralding the fact it is the middle of the week.... I think it is HOPE day.... that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.... I can see the TUNNEL...... I have made it this far.... I have.... HOPE... haha!

Just silly thoughts...

I have been jumping out of bed before 5 in the mornings so that I can get to "work" on whatever floats in my mind in that pre-dawn not quite slumber, where my creative thoughts like to flow even though I tell them to BE QUIET and sleep a while longer....   They pay me no heed.... so.... I stop fighting them.... and found it to be more peaceful to just lay there with my eyes closed.... and let my thoughts wander.... until they find a place that catches my attention..... and then ... my heart races a moment and I leap up.... anxious to get them down on paper.... or... on the computer.... or....

yes.... those creative thoughts take me places that make me happy....

Happy Pumpkin Sort Of Day

Happy Happy Cool Weather Day!!!

Oh this blissfully lovely day!  I could drink it and never get tired of it.   The perfect temperature and the perfect sunny-ness... AND a lovely afternoon at HOME!  Balm for my soul!  Down time.... time to just enjoy..... and think.....

I remember as a child that I would make pumpkins this time of year.... What I mean is.... MAKE pumpkins.... I would take construction paper and cut out hundreds of them.... and then, after raiding my mother's pin cushion, would pin them to the front porch window screen.... a virtual pumpkin BLIZZARD!   I would look at them dreamily.... happy for my little decorations... happy for the fall season as it approached..... just happy.....

Today, flipping thru my "current" sketch pad... I am noticing that I still tend to NEED to create pumpkins...... oh yes.... many, many pumpkins......

I am carrying a sketchbook in my purse these days.  I doodle anywhere there is down time.  I am going to make this something.  I don't know what the something is.. but I am going to make this something.  

Super Saturday! Hurray!

I am soooo needing this... a day to just breathe!  A day to catch up with myself.

The weather is a bit warmer... hinting that someday soon we might be comfortable with the idea that we can assume that spring is here to stay....

I am going to draw a little.... paint a little..... work on the garage.... well..... maybe.... maybe....

but in any case... I am going to just enjoy this day!

Couldn't decide if I liked this one ... so I did another....  What do you think?

Just a few thoughts.  It is cool and hinting at getting colder.  Seems like fall wants to hang on just a bit longer. 

This is a lovely, lovely week with family and time to spend with them... and peace and quiet after....

Good morning Monday! Today is August 1st!  Is summer ever flying by!  I hate the heat but dread for summer to end. I have spent such fun days this summer.  I have worked so much on my art work that it is finally filling my cup.  I have decided to start marketing my designs on Etsy....   I have worked on my Teachers Pay Teachers store.... and let's just throw in building a house, moving, changing to a new job/new grade/new town/new everything.....   Yep it is grand!

I mostly doodle in black ink... but I thought ... since I have a passion for color..... a PASSION for color... that maybe.... maybe I should actually USE some of the million colors that I collect.  

or..... maybe not..... haha!! 

Do you hold your breath like I do??? I sometimes concentrate so hard that I forget to ... just breathe....

The love of words

A few more little samples. I am still playing around with designs.  I love using words as art ... But I have to connect to those words... They have to speak to me...     I finished these last night.  It is what I have been thinking.  Don't we all struggle with knowing who we are, what we want to be... and if we are good enough?   I am finally getting to the point where I am ready to share my artwork.

So many things to do.... so little thyme!

Summer is amazing!  I have been loving it!  I have gone into overdrive with creating.  Here is a little of what I have been up to.
